ASHANTI performed on Walmart's Soundcheck in NY, debuting some tracks off her newest LP 'The Declaration' and some oldies but goodies. Seeing as though Ashanti isn't really the musical powerhouse, the tracks from the new album might just be something to look out for. I know the single getting radio play now, 'The Way that I Love You', impressed me more than I thought....especially when the video hit airwaves.

MOMMY 2 BE FABULOSITY

LAILA ALI is looking fabulous seen here cradling her baby bump at the A Place Called Home Achievement Awards luncheon in Beverly Hills. She is positively glowing and I bet that little one will be just as gorgeous. I must toot my own horn and say that I am a member of the Fab Preggy Club having looked just as fab myself... I'm just saying. (I mean I can't leave all the compliments to the celebs, come on!)

MEL B & MEAGAN GOOD attended the Spike TV’s 2nd Annual “Guys Choice” Awards this weekend in LA.
Meagan has been lookin a little homely these last few appearances here... I'm not too sure what's going on with baby girl but if she's gonna come out the house like this, we need to fire her stylist PRONTO. Put my vote in with Mel on this one.

CHRIHANNA'S DIAMONDS

After spending months denying their romance, singers Chris Brown and Rihanna are getting serious... about their gift giving. According to OK! magazine, C Bizzle recently spent $100,000 on two ruby and diamond necklaces for his 20-year-old pop star girlfriend. Rihanna reportedly returned the thought with a blinged out cross pendant necklace for Brown.

“Rihanna gave specific instructions about Chris’ gift,” designer Jason Arasheben told OK!. “She was very particular about wanting the cross to match his other jewelry.

The jeweler also sold 19-year-old Chris the gift for his Barbados-born beauty.
“He went for the heart theme,” Arasheben explained. “He said, ‘She’s going to love this because she loves hearts.’”

J HUD'S JUST'A BUZZIN

JENNIFER HUDSON was spotted out and about in LA in this bee-licious frock. Okay, there are like seventeen things wrong with this get-up and those shoes are just one... not to mention those shiny skin tight-tights that look jsut double wrong.

Clearly, she aint gettin' no sex in nobody's city looking like an overgrown bee hive. Lawd help this chile!!!!

TWO TIMES THE FUN

GARCELLE BEAUVAIS-NILON was spotted out and about with her twin boys recently looking pretty beat down. Being a mother myself, I would hate to have the paps catch me in my usual mommy-gear.... cuz it is tres unattractive. She could at least run some Pink Oil Moisturizer through that head, put it in a ponytail and went on with her day instead of coming out like that.

But, we'll give you a pass this time Garcelle.

TYRA COVERS THE NEW YORK TIMES

Entreprenuer-fab Tyra Banks covers the New York Times Magazine, where she is being compared to Martha and Oprah.

I'm not really feeling this picture, looks like someone shoved a stick up her rear....not to mention she's looking a little RuPaul-esque in this shot too, looking extremely tranny. Ahem.... but anyways, the pure notion that she will become a legend like the two she is being compared to is not only noteworthy, but a HUGE accomplishment in itself....even if she never gets a big.

OWN A PIECE OF 10 STIGWOOD AVE....

Curious as to who's house address that is? Well, if you were an avid watcher of the long running NBC comedy 'The Cosby Show' (like myself :) ) then you would know that is the address of the Cosby house. Bill's daughter Erin is auctioning off the sweaters worn by Heathcliff Huxtable (played by Bill Cosby) in an auction to raise money for her the charity fund in her brother Ennis' name, who prior to starting doctoral studies was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997.

The auction is scheduled for June 2-12, with minimum bids set at $5,000.

If I had that kind of money laying around, I'd be all over this. I'm such a Cosby fanatic it's ridiculous. And those of you who arent big on the show, check your local listings, re-runs are on every week day. Who knows, you may see him wearing one the sweaters on the show that are currently on the block.

OLD AGE = NEW BABIES

BABYFACE and his dancer girlfriend Nikki Patenburg are expecting a new baby.

Kenneth `Babyface’ Edmonds is set to become a dad again - his dancer girlfriend is pregnant with his third child. The singer/songwriter, 50, has two sons with ex-wife Tracey Edmonds. Sources insist Babyface and his 35-year-old partner, Nikki Pantenburg, have no plans to wed. The baby is due at the end of 2008.

CELEBREALITY HITS UP JADORE PARTY

The queens of celebreality hit up the J'Adore Magazine party at Plumm Thursday night. Jaslene, Aubrey, D Woods along with Adina Howard were there in all their costumed foolishness. Let me just say, I'm all for being fashion forward like the next chick... but these dresses make me want to vomit... okay maybe not to that extreme but, something close to that.

Just pure foolishness at its best here...fo sho!

HALLE THINKS BABY WILL BOOST HER CAREER

As if this child needs anymore exposure, Halle Berry was quoted saying that being a mother should bring her some good wholesome roles now and not just the sexy ones.

"I feel having a baby will open up a whole new world for me. I think I’ll actually find better roles, because I’ve gotten past being the ingenue and sex symbol."

"I’m definitely going to work less. I used to put so much pressure on myself to succeed that it often made me very unhappy in my personal life. I felt on the verge of burning out three or four years ago."

ASHANTI seems to be hot on the promo trail, covering this week's Jet magazine. The R&B Princess' album 'The Declaration' is due out June 3rd (this tuesday) and from what I hear is quite impressive for the likes of Ashanti.

GIRLFRIEND........

TRACEE ELLIS ROSS was seen at the Chanel’s Concept Boutique opening in LA yesterday, rocking Christian Louboutin pumps and a very intresting looking dress. It reminds me of a basket weave or the top of an apple pie. I love this chick to death...absolutely fab, but her style sense has me raising my eyebrow a little bit.

FIDDYS HOUSE BURNS TO THE GROUND

Rapper 50 Cent's Long Island, NY home burned to the ground last night in what is reportedly being labeled an arson “because of the intensity of the fire, and also being that who belongs to the house,” according to an article in today's NY Post.

According to the article.....

The blaze occurred just days after a heated confrontation inside the woman’s attorney’s office over the home. 50 Cent does not live in the home and apparently wasn’t there at the time.

Six people including the rapper's ex Shaniqua Tompkins and their 10-year-old son Marquise, were inside the Dix Hills home and were taken to a hospital suffering smoke inhalation. Police later said they were treated and released. A firefighter also suffered a minor eye injury, officials said.

Investigators from the Suffolk County arson squad were called to the scene after Dix Hills Fire Chief Larry Feld deemed the blaze suspicious. The fire was reported at 4:59 a.m. and was extinguished about 45 minutes later, Feld said.

USHER made his feelings be known about how he feels about folks talking trash about his wife Stank, I mean Tameka. He says he is standing up for black men everywhere, doing it the way it should be done. NO doubt, he got some booty tonight for standing up for his wife. CODE NAME...THE CLEANER

...Cuz Kimora done cleaned up house over at Baby Phat and Phat Fashions. Rumor has it that Kimora has fired long-time publicist BJ Coleman (shown about with Vanessa Simmons, Kimora's niece) and faithful employee James (both regulars on her Fab Lane series on The Style Network) from both franchises. The two have been with Kimora for years and when asked of an insider close to Kimora why she would fire such loyal employees, they responded with "She's just like that."

The shock rocked the fashion industry as folks struggled to try and figure out the business savvy behind that one. But allegedly, the reasoning behind the hack was that Kimora got wind that both were interviewing elsewhere, therefore forfeiting whatever loyalty or non-compete clause they were under.

Man, I would hate to get on that chick's bad side....

Folks over at The YBF caught up with James and asked if the rumor as true and he responded

"Yes, it’s true. I’m no longer with Baby Phat or Phat Fashions."

And when asked if this came as a surprise he says:

"I’m just as shocked as you. I was just as shocked when I found out."

TASTY TV : TYRA'S NEW SHOW STYLISTA

Seems Ms. TYRA has got a new business venture. A show called Stylista. Tyra's "Stylista" follows fashion fans as they compete for a job at Elle magazine, according to Variety.

According to sources, Banks and Mok are executive producing the series along with Eli Holzman, Desiree Gruber and Jane Cha. Mok’s 10 by 10 Ent., Banks’ Bankable shingle and Magic Molehill will produce with Warner Horizon.

Also, the "Girlfriends" spin-off "The Game" will return for a third season and pair up with "Everybody Hates Chris" in a Friday lineup the CW reports.
