BADU TEACHING BADUISM??

ERYKAH BADU has turned her Texas home into an after hours home school, which is reportedly based on home school principles. Her two children Seven, 10 and Puma, 3 are enrolled as well as 5 other children. Home schooling seems to be a growing trend among African Americans who want to exercise more control over what their children are learning and who's teaching them. We usually see this type of thing with child celebrities, but less from the children of celebrities. Interesting twist.

Now, I'm not willing to give out the mother/teacher of the yr award to Badu for this one but I'm still furrowing my brow at the inspiration for these children's names........

INDIA.ARIE HAS HER OWN LABEL

INDIA.ARIE has come together with Universal Public Records to create her own label SOULBIRD RECORDS. Ms. India says that the label will sport "music with intelligence and heart, music that moves people in their souls and their bodies." If it's anything like the music shes given us over the years (which is still in heavy rotation in my car) -- then, I can't wait.

Her first artist signed to the label, friend and frequent collaborator, Anthony David, whose album Acey Deucey will drop on June 17. The album will be an compliation of tracks from his two existing albums, 2004's Three Chords and the Truth and 2006's Red Clay Chronicles. The lead single "Words," a duet from India and Anthony, hits radio in April.

This should be straight fabulous!.. I love India ( if you couldn't already tell).

DONNIE J: TAKE YOU THERE

Donnie J of MTB4 has released his new single 'Take You There' featuring Diddy. Now, the whole season of MTB Donnie as struggling to find a unique sound. We waited the whole season for a single, not an album, but one song. I thought the whole purpose of the show was for the 2 groups & Donnie to battle out to make the albums. Hmm, I dont know.

Anyway, this is no unique sound. I hate to compare him to J.T but I'm gonna have to do it. I dont like the sound they gave him and from what I heard on the show, he is more of a vocalist than this track gives him credit for. Additionally, what's up with the Diddy cameo and the "special announcement?" That man gets in where he can fit in, thats for sure... and where he fits in is everywhere.

I mean GSSD* Diddy!!!

BRANDY: HONEY

Another track from Brandy's return from hiatus has surfaced. The track is called 'Honey' -- a mid with classic Brandy vocals and ad libs. Looks like Bran is toying around with a slightly newer vibe, sporting a little more of that pop sound that seems to be in now. I'm looking forward to the new album dropping. I'm a Brandy fan from way back, when she was still wearing those pixie braids with the baby hair coming out.

COOL JAMES DOES SYDNEY

LL Cool J was in concert in Sydney Australia at the Enmore Theatre, kicking off his Australian tour. I bet all he had to do to get the ladies going was pull up that shirt and show those abs or whip that tongue out and lick those lips. Mmm hmm, don't let me get distracted here -- moving on.

Also, upon arrival he received a traditional Aborigine tribal dance. Very cool if you ask me.

EVE'S ROUGH SIDE

EVE the one sometimes called "a pit bull in a skirt" is clearly still on the prowl. Apparently, she got in a spat with a group of women outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. According to sources, "It got physical...one of the girls Eve was yelling at was pushed down a flight of stairs either by Eve or one of her posse, but they calmed her down and cops weren't called."

This just tells us two things. One, don't be fooled by the sweet and innocent exterior, like the one shes giving out in the pic above and two, don't mess with a woman with paw prints on her boobs. I'm just saying -- moving on

TASTY FOOLISHNESS: WHEN 12 YR OLDS ATTACK

A 12 yr old was arrested in Bloomington, IL and accused of throwing a rock at the windshield of Soulja Boy's tour bus. When questioned, the boy said he hated the rapper, who was in town for a concert at the US Cellular Coliseum.

OK.. seriously, was an arrest really necessary here?? I mean, all Soulja had to do was yell out the window of the bus "YAAAAAAA TRICK YAAAAA"

Ok, Ok.. I couldn't help myself on that on -- moving on...

Additionally, Soulja will be in concert with Lil Mama for the "21 and Under" tour running April 11-May 11

TYRA'S GOT A STALKER

Seems as though Tyra Banks has got a stalker by the name of Brady Green. He's been seen following her all around the country and stuck outside Chelsea Studios where she tapes her show. Green "as hounded Banks with multiple letters and phone calls since early January," police report. He was arrested on charges of stalking, harassment and criminal trespassing. Appearing before a judge, he plead not guilty and was eventually released on his on recognizance with a protective order being issued for Tyra.

Apparently, security at Chelsea Studio's in NY is non-existent and there is an on-going fear that Green will return. Fliers were passed out alarming folks of the incident and urging them to stay away from him.

KIJIMON SPOTTED + STYLE SPECIAL

Kimora Lee and her man Djimon Hounsou were spotted out and about yesterday with the girls, Ming Lee & Aoki Lee arriving at The Ivy in Santa Monica CA yesterday afternoon for lunch. I must say, Kijimon is beginning to make a cute little couple and a promising family.

Also, The Style Network will be featuring Kimora Life in the Fab Lane: Fashion Rules! special tonight, which airs 8/7c. It features a look into her over the top diva-esque style and glimpse at why she is considered an epitome of fashion. Check it tonight...

CW'S 'THE GAME' RETURNS

Tomorrow will mark the start of all new episodes for the CW's 'The Game.' The new episode "Take these Vows and Shove 'Em" has Jason telling Kelly "it's over" and Melanie and Tasha try to console her although Kelly isn't quite sure how she would bounce back from a divorce claiming no one would want to date "a single middle aged mom."

The return of the show is a little bittersweet for me personally and further solidifies that Girlfriends.. is gone forever, sniff sniff... okay -- moving on

TI SHOUTS HALLELUJAH

A Federal Judge will be allowing rapper TI aka Clifford Harris to attend Easter services on Sunday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church from 830am to 200pm. The rapper is on house arrest pending trial for weapons charges brought against him last year.

Big sigh of relief coming from Tip right now I'm sure, after being denied the ability to host Thanksgiving dinner at his home where he is serving as per his bond arrangements, all visitors must be court approved.

KEYSHIA COLE AND CLAN UNITE

'Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is' BET's hit reality show aired its reunion show "... A Family Affair" last night -- which was taped at Turner Studios in Atlanta. The series stands way above the usual celebreality madness gracing the tubes these days with her second season ending in December tallying a record 1.8 million viewers, the highest for any BET spot.

The show, hosted by Ananda Lewis, poked fun at the issues portrayed in the show while still showing that when old wounds are picked at, they still bleed. KeyLoLo was sternly in control of her biological mother Frankie and her sister Neffe when threatened they would get "a little too raw."

If you kept up with the show, you would know that Neffe was toying with the idea of terminating her pregnancy and even going as far as making an appointment at a clinic. Keyshia's new nephew was introduced to the world.. as well as hinting that Key's got a new man "who's names starts with a J."

I could barely stomach Leash in Smokin' Aces and she was considerably more tolerable in The Nanny Diaries.. but, I'm not so sure about this one. I'm not sure what the motivation behind her even doing this series considering her larger-than-life status at the moment but... you make the call.
